New laptops increasingly charge over USB-C, with the same charger as a phone. That is why the top of this page shows 65W GaN chargers with a USB-C Power Delivery output (Teracell Evolution TC-20 and Terabyte TR65W): one charger for laptop, phone and tablet, smaller and cooler than a classic "brick". Below them are barrel-connector chargers for older and specific HP, Dell, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Samsung, Toshiba and Sony models.
Can my laptop use a USB-C 65W charger?
- Yes, if the laptop already charges over USB-C (its original charger has a USB-C cable) or if there is a power / "PD" symbol next to the USB-C port.
- 65W is enough for most thin laptops and ultrabooks (MacBook Air, Dell XPS and Latitude, HP EliteBook and Envy, Lenovo ThinkPad and Yoga, Asus Zenbook).
- Laptops that need 90W or more (gaming, workstations, larger MacBook Pro) charge slower on 65W or only while idle — for those pick a charger with the same wattage as the original.
How to choose a classic barrel charger
- Voltage (V) must match the original (usually 19V, 19.5V or 20V).
- Power (W) the same or higher than the original; a stronger charger does not harm the laptop.
- Connector — the size is in the product name (e.g. 4.5×3.0 mm for newer Dell and HP, 5.5×2.5 mm for many Asus and Lenovo models). Everything is printed on the original charger label.

Can one 65W USB-C charger power both a laptop and a phone?
Yes. Chargers with a USB-C Power Delivery output (Teracell Evolution TC-20, Terabyte TR65W) negotiate power with the device: up to 65W for a laptop, and as much as a phone or tablet asks for. The laptop must charge over USB-C.
How do I know if my laptop charges over USB-C?
If the original charger has a USB-C cable, or there is a power symbol or "PD" mark next to the laptop's USB-C port, it charges over USB-C. Most laptops newer than 2018 (MacBook Air, Dell XPS, HP EliteBook, Lenovo ThinkPad, Asus Zenbook) support it.
Is 65W enough for my laptop?
For most thin laptops, yes. Gaming laptops and larger MacBook Pro models need 90W or more — on 65W they charge slower or only when not under load. The original charger's wattage (W) is printed on its label.
What is a GaN charger?
GaN (gallium nitride) is a semiconductor that handles more power in a smaller case. A 65W GaN charger is about the size of a phone charger and runs cooler than a classic laptop charger.
How do I choose a barrel-connector charger?
Compare three values from the original's label: voltage (V) must match, power (W) the same or higher, and the connector size (e.g. 4.5×3.0 mm or 5.5×2.5 mm) the same. All three are in the names of our chargers.
