D2R bulbs

D2R is an OEM xenon bulb for reflector headlights (no projector lens). It has a shaded band on the glass that shapes the beam. No igniter — the igniter sits in the ballast.

Mostly Japanese and Korean models from the 2000s with factory xenon and no projector (Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai). The safe check is the marking on the old bulb — if it says D2R, D2R only.

4300K is the OEM slightly warm white and gives the most usable light. 5000–6000K is pure white — a more modern look at nearly the same output. Above 6500K the light turns bluish and cuts through rain and fog worse, so we do not recommend it for headlights.

All LED and xenon bulbs come with a 12-month warranty. If a bulb fails within that time we replace it, no fuss. Halogen bulbs are consumables — the warranty covers manufacturing defects only.
